Nationwide was interested in learning about the experiences of Black caregivers and identifying the challenges they face. We sponsored a survey by The Harris Poll to seek out answers.   We would like to share with you the results, unique insights and challenges of Black Caregivers and how you can help support them. 

 

Lia Easler

Associate Vice President, Marketing

Lia is currently a member of the Marketing Executive Leadership Rotation Program reporting to Nationwide's Chief Marketing Officer.

Lia began her career with Nationwide in 2006, leading regional call center operations in Canton, OH. Over the past 14 years, Lia held roles of increasing responsibility in Property & Casualty Processing and Member Solutions Service prior to joining iNHouse Marketing Operations in 2015. She also led the Employee Benefits P&L with a focus on streamlining operations, implementing technologies to improve profitability and later leading through the strategic decision to exit Group Benefits. Most recently, Lia was responsible for developing and executing business strategies to extend the reach of life insurance to new, potentially non-traditional distribution partners. As part of the effort to protect more people, Lia focused on opportunities to reach underserved markets with a focus on Black and Hispanic consumer segments.

 Prior to joining the company, Lia was vice president of customer satisfaction at Bank of America. She also led various MBNA call center and consumer lending teams in the U.S., Canada and United Kingdom prior to its acquisition by B of A. Lia graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She also has expertise in organizational change management (Nationwide), Six Sigma (University of Akron) and executive leadership (Case Western Reserve University). Lia also holds the Series 6, 26 and Accident & Health licenses.

Service to others is a priority for Lia and she currently serves on the board of the New Directions Career Center which supports women in career transition. She is president of the Columbus Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. and a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, and both afford several opportunities to serve the community. Lia is a past president of the AWARE Associate Resource Group (ARG), Executive Advisor on the NF DEI Council and actively supports multiple ARGs.

Lia is a Cleveland, Ohio native and enjoys spending time with her husband, Todd and cheering on their two children, Jada and Quentin in basketball, lacrosse, and track.

Emily McDonald leads the programmatic content and customer service strategy and execution across NCOA’s economic security product portfolio. She has 10+ years of experience working in multi-community, rapid-cycle innovation programs for older adults. Prior to joining NCOA she worked at the Center for Social Development at Washington University. Emily received her degrees from Trinity University and the School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis.
