Access to Home Care
NCOA and hundreds of aging and disability groups continue to work hard to get Congress to pass legislation to improve access to home care, support family caregivers, and provide better wages and benefits for home care workers. Nursing home coverage under Medicaid is mandatory, but home care is optional, even though it is less expensive, safer, and helps keep families together. We need your help now to get this historic investment in home care across the finish line.
Older Worker Supports
Urge Congress to strengthen job training and placement services by enacting Supporting Older Workers Act proposals, and ask your Senators to restore age discrimination in employment protections by voting for the House-passed Protecting Older Workers Against Discrimination Act and Protect Older Job Applicants Act.
Aging Services Funding
Debate is underway on annual federal funding for fiscal year 2023. The community services that older adults rely on and the Aging Services Network that deliver these supports have been underfunded for more than a decade.
