Acetaminophen is one of the most common drug ingredients in America, found in more than 600 different over-the-counter (OTC) and prescription (Rx) medicines. It’s safe and effective when used as directed, but taking too much can lead to liver damage—and research shows that adults ages 65+ are at higher risk of accidental overdose. The Know Your Dose campaign provides free resources to help educate consumers and patients about safe acetaminophen use.
The Know Your Dose campaign is led by the Acetaminophen Awareness Coalition (AAC), a leading group of health, healthcare provider, and consumer organizations dedicated to educating consumers and patients on the importance of safe acetaminophen use. The FDA serves as an advisor to the AAC.
