Welcome to the Roundtable on Obesity and Equitable Aging. This conversation is designed to focus on obesity as a chronic disease in older adults, with emphasis on the disproportionate impact obesity and related chronic diseases have on racial and ethnic minority groups. Participants will discuss issues such as quality of life, coverage gaps for the full range of treatment options, and the significant burden obesity has on our healthcare system. We will examine health inequities, stigma, policy implications, and solutions to address long-standing systemic health inequities that put older adults at increased risk. Highlights will be captured in a paper.
