Founded in 1966 as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, CARF International is an independent, nonprofit accreditor of a variety of health and human services including Aging Services, Behavioral Health, Employment and Community Services, Medical Rehabilitation and others. The CARF International group of companies currently accredits more than 65,000 programs and services at over 30,000 locations. More than 15 million persons of all ages are served annually by 8,500-plus CARF-accredited providers. Aging Services accredits over 900 programs across the full continuum of care including both home & community-based services as well as residential communities (Independent Senior Living, Assisted Living, CCRCs, and Person-Centered LTC Communities) in the U.S., Canada, China, U.A.E., and Ireland. www.CARF.org/aging
