Everyone wins, especially older adults when community-based organizations and physical therapists collaborate to build a continuum of health and wellness. This 30-minute webinar will describe the benefits of this collaboration from the perspective of senior center staff and physical therapists. A step-by-step process for community-based organizations to identify and engage with physical therapists in their community will be discussed and potential barriers will be identified and addressed. After this webinar, you will know how to start the right conversation with the right physical therapist to build your community-clinical bridge.

Lori Schrodt, PT, PhD

Professor, Department of Physical Therapy

Western Carolina University

Lori Schrodt is a physical therapist and Professor in the Department of Physical Therapy at Western Carolina University and is the lead physical therapist of the WCU Balance and Fall Prevention Clinic. Her teaching, clinical practice, and research interests include healthy aging and geriatric rehabilitation, fall prevention, and recovery from neurologic conditions. She also works to build clinical-community partnerships through consultation and advisory roles with regional, state, and national organizations. Dr. Schrodt received her physical therapy degree from Ithaca College and a MS and PhD in Human Movement Science from UNC-Chapel Hill.
