One of the challenges that community-based organizations and others face as they carry out their mission of service for older adults and adults with disabilities is how to sustain programming and services for their targeted populations over time. In addition to pursuing public and private grant and foundation support, a robust sustainability plan should include a creative revenue diversification approach with “earned income” opportunities. This training will provide an introduction to “Social Entrepreneurship” as a consideration as organizations develop a sustainability plan that is creative and expansive in its approach. Presenters will share examples of social entrepreneurship in the field and provide opportunities for discussion among participants.

  • The learning objectives for this interactive webinar training include:
    • Participants will have an introduction to social entrepreneurship and a beginning understanding of related concepts (e.g., social innovation, social enterprise, and social entrepreneurship);
    • Participants will have an increased understanding of how social entrepreneurship may support their sustainability efforts.
    • Participants will have an increased understanding of their assets and how their assets may be used in innovative sustainability efforts.
